Jane Farrell is the Director of SERVICE STARS – an organisation that provides training and employment for CALD communities.

Service Stars works with leaders, providing support and leadership development, in identifying women who are keen to commence work.  

Jane was formerly the President of the Victorian Branch of the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union (LHMU) – a large and progressive union that represent workers in the service and manufacturing sectors. Jane worked with the LHMU for 23 years with the bulk of the those years in leadership positions.  Her work with the LHMU included a strong focus on campaigning for better industry working conditions and active work in the community building leadership and a strong voice for women.

Jane works with diverse organisations such as Victoria Police, employers, local councils, resident associations and refugee and migrant women’s groups to build strong partnerships and to develop and implement socially inclusive practices for new and emerging communities.  In its key role, Service Stars works to places women and young people into decent jobs with partner employers.

Service Stars has attracted widespread interest and support as it is seen as a low cost, effective model to help improve the lives of our most recent citizens.
