I have been involved in the VIRWC since July 2008. I'm currently studying Bachelor of Laws at Victoria University and have previously completed Bachelor of Legal Studies at La Trobe University.

I believe that women should be equal to men in all aspects of life. This equality is difficult to achieve, especially for refugee and immigrant women who may not have a full understanding of the Australian legal system, when they do not know where to seek help and advice in times of need.

My aim is to help build up the Family Law program so that every woman who needs legal advice and cannot afford to pay a private lawyer is able to seek such advice for free. I believe that the program will not only help these disadvantaged women, but also add to the legal profession's value as the lawyer's who are willing and able to take on pro bono work are assisting a section of the community who do not have a voice.
