Hi, my name is Florence Agen. I am originally from Papua New Guinea which is one of the island countries in the South Pacific region.

I am currently studying at Victoria University for my Master Degree in Asia/Pacific studies (Community Development stream). I love to live and study in Australia, it's been a wonderful experience, though a bit challenging.

Doing my agency engagement/placement with the Victorian Immigrant & Refugee Women's Coalition is very worthwhile and enriching. I have a background in social works and have worked with the government sector and community development for 8 years. Thus, being with the coalition is a new experience for me in seeing how the third sector organisation would work.

VIRWC is doing its best to support and advocate for immigrant and refugee women issues and concerns into the main stream community.

I am glad to learn as well to contribute to whatever areas I can to support the work of the coalition.
